Seimas speaker not worried about budget warnings from EC

On Tuesday, the European Commission (EC) said that Lithuania was at risk of failing to comply with the structural government sector’s balance rate and suggested taking relevant measures to avoid it. However, Graužinienė believes there is no such risk.

“The share of budgetary income that we project is rather conservative and, based on forecasts, we expect revenue collection to be considerably bigger. At the moment, the draft budget forecasts conservative optimism. If the economic situation remains unchanged and revenue collection grows, we definitely do not see any threats,” she said on Wednesday to the radio Žinių Radijas.
