Serbia and Lebanon open their markets to Lithuanian food products

The Lithuanian State Food and Veterinary Service and Lebanon’s authorities have agreed on certificates for beef products, canned meat, fish and poultry. Serbia is opening its market to beef products, meat, fish and milk products.

Until now, Lithuania has had no trade relations with Lebanon and has exported berries, potatoes and canned fish to Serbia. Lithuania’s exports to the Balkan country totalled 418,000 euros in 2012.

Lithuania started an active search for new markets after Moscow imposed one-year-long restrictions on meat, vegetable and fruit, milk and dairy imports from the EU, US and other countries supporting sanctions against Russia.

China and Japan have been identified as potential new markets for Lithuanian products.
