According to the Lietuvos Rytas daily, tax inspectors are looking into the taxes of Seimas Vice-Speaker Kęstas Komskis, of the Order and Justice party, and Remigijus Žemaitaitis, chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Economic Affairs.
The daily’s sources say the tax authority is also set to launch a separate investigation about MEP Viktor Uspaskich, founder and honorary chairman of the Labour Party.
Darius Buta, the head of communication at the State Tax Inspectorate, confirmed on Monday that investigations against two MPs were in progress, without naming the politicians due to the protection of personal data. He also confirmed that a probe against one MEP would be started probably next week.
