Ship traffic at Klaipėda port resumes as winds abate

“Navigation started to be partially resumed at 8 a.m. and four small ships currently are being navigated out of the harbor,” Nijolė Dvarionaitė-Milkintienė, the port’s spokeswoman, told BNS.

A total of 13 vessels waited to enter the port on Tuesday morning and another ten waited to leave it. The speed of winds in Klaipeda was six to seven meters per second with gusts of up to 20 mps, down from up to 25 mps registered in the early hours of Monday.
