SocDems’ decision on future in ruling bloc should come a.s.a.p. – PM

“I believe we should tell our partners very clearly in the current situation: if they think that presence in the ruling majority is harmful to them or that they feel discomfort or see no meaning, we should get the message as soon as possible,” Skvernelis told journalists on Monday.

The prime minister said that formalizing a minority government with the opposition conservatives or other opposition groups was still too early.

“Many things depend on who becomes the new leader of the Social Democrats, the new leadership of the party and its capabilities and influence upon the work of Seimas members working in the Seimas. For now, I think that there is no reason to formalize (a minority government). Discussions with partners continue, and we are meeting later today to discuss certain principle issues,” said Skvernelis.
