SocDems’ exit from ruling bloc sways Lithuania into instability – president

“After the Social Democratic Party’s decision, we are entering a phase of political instability,” Grybauskaitė said in comment of the party’s move on Saturday.

In her words, the Saulius Skvernelis-led government will have to operate in minority.

“The minority government is likely to have support of informal, diverse and rather unstable majority. We are faced with a major test of responsibility – not only for those who remain in power but also for the opposition,” Grybauskaite said in a message provided to BNS by her press service.
