Social democrats ask government watchdogs to investigate previous conservative-led cabinet

The political group notes that on 18 September 2008 the 14th Government led by social democrat Gediminas Kirkilas adopted a decision to establish a company to build a natural gas terminal. Meanwhile, on 25 November 2009, the next Government led by conservative Andrius Kubilius and Minister of Economy Dainius Kreivys adopted a decision to liquidate this company.

In the address to the State Control Office, the political group says that on 21 July 2010 Kubilius’ Government adopted a decision, allowing Klaipėdos Nafta (Klaipėda Oil) to begin a project of building a liquefied natural gas terminal and thus to begin implementing an analogous, yet a new and a more expensive project.
