According to the president, Pabedinskienė’s political will and personal commitment to continue with the social system’s reforms are sufficient, although the reforms have been rather sluggish.
“I really hope that the minister understands that there are only about 18 months left for this term of office, but there are a lot of tasks to do. I must admit that the minister’s responsibility is huge, whereas the ministry is not very strong. This is an important reason why the reform speed has been rather low,” the president said on the national radio LRT.
On Wednesday, Grybauskaitė expressed her opinion to Minister Pabedinskienė on the projects that the ministry must speed up.
As reported, the Liberal Movement has threatened to initiate an interpellation against the social security and labour minister.
