Some 29.6 pct of Lithuanians at risk of poverty in 2017 – Eurostat

Lithuania’s rate increased by 1.3 percentage points in 2017 compared with 2008,

Higher rates last year were registered in Bulgaria, at 38.9 percent, Greece, at 34.8 percent, and Romania, at 35.7 percent.

The share of people at risk of poverty or social exclusion was 28.2 percent in Latvia and 23.4 percent in Estonia. The EU average rate was 22.55 percent.

Persons at risk of poverty are those with incomes below 60 percent of the national average.
