The proposal envisages leaving five regional divisions of the institution instead of the current ten, Lietuvos Žinios reports.
Alytus County State Tax Inspectorate (AVMI) and Marijampolė AVMI would be merged with Kaunas AVMI, Tauragė AVMI and Telšiai AVMI would become departments under Klaipėda AVMI and Panevėžys AVMI would incorporate Utena AVMI.
The reorganization is to start in October.
