Sweden’s Saab Bofors Dynamics AB will supply Carl-Gustav munitions for Lithuanian armed forces

On June 30, the European Defence Agency (EDA) signed a five-year contract with the Swedish manufacturer on behalf of the Baltic states. Munitions will also be provided for the Czech Republic and Poland.

Under the contract, ammunition for the Carl-Gustav recoilless rifles/launchers will be procured without additional contests and acquisition procedures for a fixed price for 5 years. If agreed, the contract may be extended for two more years.

The agreement authorising EDA to procure ammunition on behalf of the Baltic States was endorsed in Luxembourg on 23 April 2013 by EDA Chief Executive and delegates of the Baltic Ministries of Defence. Later the project was joined by the Czech Republic and Poland.
