The Economist: Lithuania lags behind Baltic states in terms of business conditions

The survey, which tries to make predictions about business environment in 2015-2019, placed Lithuania 43rd among 82 countries, according to the Economist’s annual publication “The World in 2015”.

Estonia ranks 27th, followed by Poland (30th) and Latvia (39th). Among EU member states, Lithuania scored better than Italy (43rd), Bulgaria (51st), Croatia (53rd) and Greece (62nd).

The survey took into account political and economic conditions in a specific country as well as market opportunities, attitudes to free business, openness to foreign investments, foreign trade, taxes, labor market and infrastructure.
