The first IKEA store in Latvia opens on 30 August

“Today we start the count-down of days left till the opening of the first IKEA store in Latvia, launching the IKEA catalogue distribution to all homes in Riga and in the closest territories around. From the 30 August we will be welcoming the first visitors at the biggest IKEA store in the Baltics. The vision of IKEA is to create a better everyday life for the many people, offering well-designed, functional, affordable home furnishing products and solutions”, says Inga Filipova, IKEA Latvia Store Manager.

The floor space of the new IKEA Riga store is 34.500 m2 build on a 10-hectare land plot, within a 15 minutes-drive from Riga city centre, at the intersection of Juglas Street and Biķernieku Street. IKEA store in Riga will offer more than 8000 Swedish design home furnishing items from kitchens, living room, children furniture to cutlery and home decorations.

Moreover, in the IKEA store there will be a restaurant, Bistro and the Swedish food market. The IKEA restaurant will have 450 seats and will offer traditional Swedish food, such as meatballs, salmon, along with the local traditional dishes. The iconic IKEA dishes like hot-dogs and ice-cream will be sold in the Bistro for a regular 0.30 EUR price.

The working hours of the store will be from 10.00 a.m. until 9.00 p.m. The working hours of the restaurant will be from 9.30 a.m. until 8.30 p.m.
