The pizzeria with a floor area of 135 sq. m, set up in the Schengen lounge between the boarding gates A11 and A14, is already offering travellers to taste locally baked pizzas and other dishes suited for the airport guests’ needs. A little earlier, at the beginning of February, a new pizzeria was opened in the non-Schengen lounge. It is situated at the boarding gate A8. The Commercial Director of Lithuanian Airports Justinas Stepšys says that the opening of pizzerias is one more important stage in the development of services at Vilnius Airport and a quality change.
“In autumn 2018, we announced a tender with a view of finding partners capable of installing two modern pizzerias. Currently, 11 restaurants and cafés are open at the capital’s air gates. The choice is wide – ranging from hot dishes to fresh fast food and pastry. We seek that Vilnius Airport would become an attractive and convenient shopping and services centre where passengers would find a wide variety of specialties, gifts, also food, essential services, modern environment, as well as would be able to enjoy the time remaining before their flight,” told the Commercial Director of Lithuanian Airports.
Gediminas Balnis, Director of Amber Food, the company managing the Charlie Pizza chain tells that visitors will find not only new dishes suited for airport visitors, but also their already favourite menu and the most popular pizzas. They will also be able to order “grab and go” food intended for hurrying passengers.
“When designing pizzerias, we took into regard the fact that they would be situated in the airport and passengers would come around here led by all sorts of goals. Some want to have a rest before a flight, others – to work with a computer; therefore, we created convenient spaces where it would be possible also to relax, as well as to work for a while. We planned the areas in such a way that they would be convenient for both large groups and individual persons. A playful space is provided even for the smallest travellers,” told Mr. Balnis.
In total, 11 restaurants and cafés offering a different assortment are located in Vilnius Airport. These include restaurants offering hot dishes, pastry from the bakery, freshly made sandwich bar, pubs, and cafés.
