Trilateral Council okays raising minimum monthly salary to EUR 400

The final decision is yet to be endorsed by the government.

The council also agreed that increase of the salary would be de-politicized further and linked with the size of the average salary – it will have to be between 45 and 50 percent of average monthly salary. Minimum wages will be reviewed once a year.

According to the decision, the ration between the minimum salary and the average salary will equal an average of four countries with the highest ratio, however, will have to be between 45 and 50 percent.

The government’s calculations suggest that increase of the minimum wages to 400 euros will put the ratio between minimum monthly salary and average monthly salary at about 48 percent, up from the current 46 percent.

If endorsed by the government, the minimum wages will go up after the last increase to 380 euros in July of 2016.
