According to Gediminas Almantas, director general of the Lithuanian Airports, authors of such messages should think how much their prank is going to cost.
“The financial losses due to the interrupted operations at the entire airport include all losses of all services: airline losses due to flight and airplane delays, due to disturbed services of ground handling companies, etc. Many services and companies contribute to the claim and all of them seek to recover their losses from the person who sent a hoax message, who also always faces criminal responsibility,” he said.
