Vilnius court orders freeze on EUR 0.5 b of Snoras ex-owners’ funds, Swiss bank accounts

The Vilnius Regional Court on Friday granted a request from Valnetas, Snoras’ bankruptcy administrator, for interim measures against the two men.

The court decided to freeze almost 70 million euros of Baranauskas’ funds and over 338 million euros of Antonov’s funds and another 92 million euros in funds of both of them, as well as their accounts in Swiss banks.

Valnetas CEO Gintaras Adomonis told BNS that he would be able to comment on the situation next week.

According to the court, Snoras is seeking to recover over 500 million euros from its former owners.

Snoras’ operations were suspended in November 2011. British courts ruled in 2015 to extradite Antonov and Baranauskas, who then lived in London, to Lithuania, but the men fled the UK and are now hiding in Russia.
