Vilnius hosts one of Europe’s biggest archaeology events

At least 1,500 scientists and researchers from Europe, Asia, North America and Australia are expected at the event, according to Vilnius University, one of the organizers of the congress.

The congress will include verbal and stand presentations by the most famous archaeologists from Lithuania and the rest of the world, as well as round-table discussions and seminars.

The event has been divided in 108 sections, with scientists discussing interpretation of archaeological data, management of archaeological heritage and adaptation to modern needs, archaeological theory and methodology. A special section is dedicated to the impact of Brexit on archaeology.

As the congress is held in Lithuania, the Baltic region will also be in focus.
