He told a press conference on Monday that the resolution of problems of Vilnius’ residential areas will be his key future priority.
“The next term will have to focus on the residential areas where we need to take care of the greenery, further expand areas for people to be able to exercise and also children’s playgrounds. And, most importantly, we will resolve the car parking problem in residential areas,” Zuokas said.
He was Vilnius mayor in 2003-2007 and was elected again in 2011.
Lithuania will hold local elections and the first direct mayoral elections on 1 March.
