Two persons who had a very large amount of the narcotic substance in their Mercedes Benz were apprehended close to the Lithuanian-Polish border on October 14. Examination of the vehicle revealed around 250 kg of hashish, which is estimated at more than 2 million euros.
According to the press release, the suspected organizer of the smuggling was detained a few days later.
The three detained persons are linked with organized criminal structures of Vilnius and Kaunas and may face jail term between 10 and and 15 years, if found guilty.
