Vilnius University advances in QS World University Rankings

“Improving ratings of our Alma Mater testify that we are on the right track and we aim at joining the TOP 400 strongest world universities in the nearest future. Though, the main priority in the meantime is to keep pace with the leading universities of Europe and hence we seek for quality and excellence in all areas,” prof Artūras Žukauskas, VU rector, says.

In its 12th edition this year, the QS World University Rankings defined that the TOP 3 world universities are the following: the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA (1), Harvard University, USA (2) and Cambridge University, UK (3).

The other three universities of Lithuania – Kaunas University of Technology, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and Vytautas Magnus University are sharing lower – 701+ position.

The primary aim of the QS World University Rankings is to help students make informed comparisons of leading universities around the world. Based on six performance indicators, the rankings are designed to assess universities in four areas: research, teaching, employability and internationalization.
