Yplan set up in 2012 and is currently expanding its operations in New York and San Francisco. The app helps consumers to choose an event in their city and to buy tickets for the event, all in a couple of minutes. Yplan attracted VentureBeat attention because VentureBeat believes it can become a billion dollar company if it can successfully expand into other US cities.
In 2013 YPlan founders told the portal Lrytas.lt that their immediate plans were expansion into at least 10 US cities as well as in Asia, and into the biggest European cities.
During its three investment rounds to date, YPlan has already attracted almost €35 million in funding. Hollywood stars like the actor Ashton Kutcher are among the 16 investors in Yplan.
