Vytautas Gapšys, leader of the Labour Party parliamentary group, will head the party’s electoral headquarters in the upcoming municipal election and parliamentary election which will be held in two years.
The decision was made during the Labour Party council sitting on Saturday, 12 July. According to the Labour Party’s statement, Vytautas Gapšys will present the party’s election structure, people who will work on it and ideas for the upcoming elections.
During the party meeting, Gapšys noted of the novelty – direct mayoral elections. Before the end of the summer, party branches will have to discuss and make decisions on candidates to mayors’ positions. The candidates will be confirmed in autumn.
Chairwoman of the Labour Party Loreta Graužinienė said that the leadership intends to visit all of the party’s branches and present novelties related to elections.
