Vilnius police stepping up measures ahead of Žalgiris-Dinamo rematch

Since Monday morning, police officers with dogs have been checking cars coming from Croatia to Lithuania, belongings, ID, the Police Department says.

Croatian fans are also undergoing checks upon entering Vilnius.

Increased police forces will be on duty in central Vilnius and around the stadium on Tuesday afternoon and other special forces, criminal police officers in civilian clothes will be also involved in the operation.

Lithuanian police are also cooperating with Croatian counterparts while preparing for the match as four Croatian officers are coming to Lithuania to help Lithuanian officers to control guest fans, separate aggressive football hooligans.

Similarly, three Lithuanian officers attended the first match in Zagreb last week.
