The storm left around 3,800 people without power on Thursday night. Power operator Elektros Skirstymo Operatorius‘ spokeswman Valentas Neviera told BNS Lithuania said there were still around 300 people without electricity on Friday morning.
Laura Valauskienė, spokeswoman for the Fire and Rescue Department, told BNS Lithuania that fire fighters went 69 times to deal with the storm’s consequences. There were reports of trees having damaged two properties in Šiauliai and Plungė, and tree branches also damaged cars.
According to the Hydrometeorological Service, outbursts of brief rainfall are forecast in northwestern Lithuania, with thundery showers expected in some areas amid western, southwestern winds with 8-13 m/s, with gusts up to 15-20 m/s.
