“Agricultural sector in all European countries bear the devastating consequences of ASF; therefore, I hope that during the meeting with our neighbours from Estonia, Latvia and Poland we will look for solutions. AFS does not recognize national borders, the virus may spread in Europe any time; therefore, I think it is necessary to urgently take measures and to negotiate with the European Commission over assistance,” says Baltraitienė in a statement of the Ministry.
The meeting will be attended by Estonia’s Minister of Agriculture Ivar Padar, Latvia’s Minister of Agriculture Janis Duklavs, Undersecretary of State at Poland’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Tadeusz Nalewajk, and their delegations.
