The meeting of Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius, Latvian Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma and Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Roivas will take place from Friday until Sunday, Butkevičius’ spokeswoman Evelina Butkutė-Lazdauskienė told BNS on Thursday.
The meeting will focus on energy, transport, defence and other issues, she said.
“Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are part of one energy region. Together we are building a regional energy market, strengthening our energy security and want comprehensive integration into the EU internal energy market, so the energy will be in focus during the meeting,” the Lithuanian prime minister’s spokesman said.
Baltic prime ministers meet annually in one of the three Baltic countries in late summer and discuss key political, economic, energy and cooperation issues as well as joint projects.
