Vanagas wrote on Facebook that: “for the first 100 km everything went quite smoothly. We overtook six cars, it was dangerous, but we were holding on. At one point we were driving at about 150 km/h. in dust when a cow appeared just in front of the car… reaction and reluctance to injure the animal and myself forced to heavily damage the car.”
Vanagas took 63rd place in the stage. However, other Lithuanian teams had better results. Antanas Juknevičius and Mindaugas Slapšys showed a steady pace and gradually rose to the 45th position. Vaidotas Žala and Saulius Jurgelėnas surprised with their successful performance, they were the fastest among Lithuanian teams with 43rd place in Monday’s stage.
