In the semifinals, Berankis, who is first seeded in the tournament, faced the Hungarian Marton Fucsovics (23, ATP 202) who was seeded at the eigth position. In the match that lasted almost an hour and a half, the Lithuanian managed to win in straight set 6-4, 6-3.
In the finals, Berankis will play against Mirza Basic (24, ATP 189) from Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the semifinals, Basic surprised the third-seeded Pole Michal Przysiezny (31, ATP 142), formerly world number 57 player. The Polish surrendered in three set match 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.
Berankis, who is coming fresher and more experienced, is the favourite in the finals. But the Lithuanian will have to improve his accuracy and the power of the first serve. During the semifinals, Berankis served successfully only 57% of the first serves. Conversely, his opponent served with an accuracy of 67%. This fact, allowing for his opponents to get break points, which Berankis have to save in order to stay in the match.
By advancing to the finals, Berankis already got 55 ranking points and EUR 3,600 prize money. In case of victory, besides a nice trophy, the Lithuanian will get 90 ATP ranking points and will add EUR 6,150 to his bank account.
