The restaurant on Gedimino Avenue offers a variety of beef burgers with patties grilled in-house and delivered to your table still sizzling with smoky aromas.
Boom’s lunch menu deal gives you a choice of three different burgers with the option of French fries or Slaw, and a coke for 1c. But for €2 extra you can tackle the restaurant’s 400-gram speciality Boom Burger, complete with dripping cheddar, pickles and tomato and lettuce. Mind, though: trying to take a bite of everything packed into the stacked burger at once presents a serious lock-jaw hazard.
But before you get to taste the house speciality there is a slight downside: the order takes time to arrive, but the circulating aromas of flame grilled beef wet the appetite, and it’s definitely worth the wait to sink your teeth into a juicy beef (or chicken) patty layered with your choice of cheese, salads and toppings in a soft and tasty bun.
Our orders were cooked to perfection, medium or medium rare, giving a juicy burger that you need to lean over your plate to dig into. To change things up try the blue cheese instead of traditional cheddar to give more bite to your beef. We all went for fries instead of slaw but they didn’t disappoint.
Those with vegetarian inclinations have the option of the veggie burger with grilled aubergine and pan-fried goat’s cheese, but Boom Burgers is essentially a meat-lovers’ place with the smell of the grill penetrating the entire dining area.
With its industrial-style interior of exposed brickwork and unpolished wood tables, the place is going for a New York feel to complement the offering of America’s signature dish.
It might not be very local fare, but if strolling along Gedimino Avenue gets you craving for a burger rather than Cepelinai, Boom!
