While all euro coins have a common reverse, each can choose its own design for the obverse.
Lithuanian euro coins will bear the Vytis, the horse-riding knight from the national coat of arms, designed by sculptor Antanas Žukauskas. Framing the Vytis will be twelve stars arranged in a circle.
On the edge of the two-euro coin there will be an inscription of three words: LAISVĖ, VIENYBĖ, GEROVĖ (Liberty, Unity, Prosperity).
