Commission of Lithuanian expatriates urges parliament to reject dual citizenship referendum

The commission also addressed Education and Science Minister Audronė Pitrėnienė asking for information on the progress by the Ministry of Education and Science in implementing the commission’s resolution of 14 November 2014 on the Status of the Lithuanian Language as a Foreign Language.

Furthermore, referring to a survey of Lithuanians residing abroad, which was carried out by Chairwoman of the Board of the Lithuanian World Community (PLB) Danguolė Navickienė, the commission asked the Central Electoral Commission (VRK) to consider creating a separate single-member constituency for Lithuanian citizens residing abroad.
