During the past 24 hours, 365 new cases of infection were detected in the country. 7 people died from Covid-19.

According to the Department of Statistics, the incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days is 226.9. The percentage of positive tests during the week is now 2.1 percent.

Nearly 16,000 tests for the presence of coronavirus were performed during the day.

Kaunas is reducing the number of covid beds on Monday. Clinics in Kaunas said today that it is possible because in the last two weeks, there has been a downward trend in the number of infections and hospitalizations with a diagnosis of Covid-19.

Those who wish to receive a second dose of Vaxzevria (formerly AstraZeneca) earlier will be vaccinated on Monday. Vilnius authorities prepared 3,200 doses for them. There is only one condition – no less than 4 weeks should elapse between the first and second doses.

No pre-registration will be required. Vaccinations will take place on Monday, June 7 from 9.00 a.m. to 19.00 at the Litexpo vaccination centre.

Separate queues for registered and unregistered Vilnius residents will be created in the centre.

Neringa remains the leader in terms of the number of vaccinated people. Three-quarters of the population took at least one dose of the vaccine in this municipality.

One third of the population has been vaccinated in most of the country’s municipalities.

In Neringa, the first dose was given to 75.5 per cent. Birštonas came second on the list – 53.3. The Akmenė municipality is also on the podium, where 48.3 per cent of people were vaccinated.

At the other end of the list is the Šalčininkai district, where the vaccine was taken by 21.2, Visaginas – 27.3, and the Vilnius region – 28.9 per cent of the inhabitants.

Among the large cities of the country, Kaunas is the leader, where 42.8 percent have been vaccinated, and Alytus – 42.6 percent. In Vilnius, 40.2 percent of the population was given the first dose.

Within a week, the first dose of the vaccine was taken by 85,500 inhabitants of the country – on average over 12,000 a day. More than 165,000 inhabitants were vaccinated with both the first and the second dose – 36,000 more than the week before.

The pace of vaccination has accelerated after the start of field vaccination on Monday.
