Croatian troops served in the battalion between December 2017 and July 2018 and are expected to join it again in the first half of 2020.
“Lithuania thanks Croatia for the decision to deploy its forces to the NATO enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) Battalion Battle Group in Lithuania again. That is the real expression of solidarity between our countries in the face of common threats,” Defense Minister Raimundas Karoblis said in a press release.
Karoblis met on Wednesday with Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Damir Krsticevic and Chief of Defense General Mirko Sundov.
NATO last year deployed multinational battalions to the three Baltic countries and Poland each. The unit in Lithuania is led by Germany.
