Electricity price in Lithuania stabilised in August

As weather cooled off, electricity demand reduced to usual levels, wind power stations generated on average 46 megawatts of electrical energy per hour. To ensure reliability of the energy system, 7th unit of Elektrėnai Power Plant also operated all week. Last week, on average 67 percent of electricity consumed in Lithuania was imported.

Power throughput in some international electricity links is expected to remain limited due to repairs. However, electricity price in August should remain lower compared with July, because electricity demand will decrease and more power will be generated by local wind farms.
