“This is an important decision for our national defence, and will further increases the allied presence in Estonia,” Taavi Rõivas, the Estonian Prime Minister, said at a meeting with President Obama in Tallinn.
Both Rõivas and Obama acknowledged that the bilateral relations between the US and Estonia are very good.
Obama said at the meeting that Estonia and the USA have similar viewpoints on security issues and confirmed the US commitment to the defence of NATO allies.
The US President recognised Estonia’s serious attitude towards national defence and international security, citing Estonia as a role model for other countries with regard to contributing in defence costs.
