Žaliūnas received a relevant document from France‘s Ambassador to Lithuania Philippe Jeantaud at the National Art Museum of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis in Kaunas on Monday, the university said.
“As a Lithuanian and a great patriot of my country, I am proud of being noticed and awarded the trust of the grand country of France. It is a great honour to represent my country, however, it is a double honour to be a due representative of France. I view my future activities as highly meaningful work in enhancing the compatibility of the relations between Lithuania and France,” Žaliūnas said at the ceremony.
He said that his wife would be the first person to open her home to a French person in need.
