Hungarian ambassador presents letters of credence to Lithuanian president

According to a press release by the president’s office, Grybauskaitė and the new ambassador discussed the refugee crisis – the strengthening of the protection of European external borders and the external border management agency Frontex, as well as the possibility of setting up joint EU border guard forces.

Grybauskaitė underlined Hungary‘s important contribution to Lithuania’s security through the Baltic air policing mission and NATO Force Integration Unit. During the meeting, views were also exchanged on relevant bilateral issues and positive trends in economic relations between Lithuania and Hungary.
