Kleiza, Javtokas will not play for Lithuania’s national team in world championship

Centre Robertas Javtokas and forward Linas Kleiza will not play for the team due to health problems.

“I have always been of the position that the strongest must play for the national team. But judging from my conversations with the players over the season, I learnt that we have players who have traumas and more serious health problems. That’s way Robertas Javtokas and Linas Kleiza asked me to spend this summer treating their old traumas,” national team coach Jonas Kazlauskas told journalists during the presentation of the candidate list on Tuesday.

14 out of the list will leave for the western resort of Palanga for training and NBA players Donatas Motiejunas and Jonas Valančiunas as well as forward Jonas Mačiulis for various reasons will join the team later.
