Members of the Žvėrynas community plan to gather outside the Estonian embassy building in the capital’s neighborhood to present the ambassador with a traditional hand-woven sash and to sing a traditional Lithuanian birthday song.
The national flags of all three Baltic countries will be raised in Vilnius’ Daukanto Square and the balconies of the Presidential Palace will glow with EE 100 signs.
The Lithuanian and Estonian flags will also be hoisted in Lukiškių Square near the Foreign Ministry building.
Vilnius’ landmark Hill of Three Crosses and some bridges will be illuminated in blue, black and white during the weekend.
The Estonian flag will be hoisted by the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, from which a trumpeter at 7:18 p.m. will play the Estonian national anthem.
