Switzerland will be the commission’s chair for a two-year term while Lithuania and Montenegro will be its vice chairs.
Lithuania will also host the 60th UNWTO Commission for Europe meeting in Vilnius in 2016.
“Lithuania has been given great honour and responsibility to chair the Commission for Europe that includes 43 countries,” said Minister of Economy Evaldas Gustas who headed the Lithuanian delegation at the UNWTO General Assembly. “We appreciate the support from other countries and their trust in Lithuania as a tourism country. This gives us an opportunity to take active part in shaping tourism policy of Europe and the entire world.”
