Lithuania expects agreements on energy projects at meeting of Baltic, Nordic PMs

“They will discuss issues of European security policies, regional cooperation and regional energy (…). Energy is the most important issue, as we have to agree on many projects, and the support of the Nordic countries is also important. We will be leading the discussion on energy,” Deividas Matulionis, adviser to the prime minister, told BNS.

Skvernelis should leave for Helsinki on Tuesday evening, with the main meeting of the eight Nordic and Baltic prime ministers scheduled for Wednesday.

“It is a traditional event and we are again accentuating that our engagement in the Nordic-Baltic cooperation is one of the priorities of foreign policies, therefore, the regional format is the most important,” said Matulionis.

In his words, Skvernelis is also planned to have one-on-one meetings with his Danish, Finnish and Norwegian counterparts.
