Lithuania may exceed its 2020 renewable energy target

According to the report, there are “good prospects” for the EU-wide target of 20 percent renewable energy in 2020 being achieved. In 2014, the combined EU share of renewable energy reached 15.3 percent. All member states, except the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, met their interim targets.

The share of renewable energy in transport last year reached 5.7 percent, which means that achieving the 10 target “will be challenging but feasible”, the Commission said.
