Lithuania ranks second after Estonia in ex-Soviet countries’ rating

Estonia received 93 points and Lithuania got 85. Latvia came in third with 82 points.

Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan were rated as least-westernized post-Soviet countries, receiving 29, 19 and 17 points respectively.

Countries were valued based on Western standards in the areas of politics, economy, law, culture and lifestyle.

Estonia outperformed Lithuania in all categories and received the maximum of 25 points.

Lithuania did not receive the highest score in any category but fared well in the areas of economy (23 points) and politics (22 points).

Latvia outdid Lithuania, however, by one point in the area of economics, and also scored better than Lithuania in terms of lifestyle, receiving 8.5 points. Lithuania got 7.5 points.
