Lithuania receives IFV offers from 10 producers

“October 16 was the deadline for producers of wheeled IFVs to submit their offers to the Ministry of National Defense. And the ministry has received responses from ten producers,” the ministry’s Public Relations Department told BNS.

The special group will evaluate the offers in terms of operational and economic criteria and will submit the evaluation results to the command of the national security system and only then will negotiations with selected producers be launched, the ministry said.

It also added that, if needed, additional market analysis would be done or producers would be asked to specify information on IFVs they produce.

The evaluation criteria will not be revealed due to the sensitivity of such information.

The Ministry of National Defense said last summer that “several hundred million” litas could be spent on fighting vehicles and the purchase could be finalized by 2020.
