Until now, the Migration Department had to make a decision on banning a foreigner, who is deemed to pose threat to the Lithuanian state, from entering the country in five days. Upon a proposal from the Ministry of the Interior, the government of Lithuania on Wednesday shorted the term to one day.
Such swift decision will be made in cases when there is evidence that a foreign national may pose threat to state security.
