The establishment of a primary school in the northern part of Kaliningrad is being initiated by local Lithuanians, the Education and Science Ministry told BNS.
A dormitory would have to be set up next to the school.
The ministry will look into whether it could contribute financially and in other ways to the establishment of such a school, but notes that the opening of a new school would be a lengthy process.
According to the local community, around 20,000 Lithuanians live in Russia’s Kaliningrad region.
