Lithuanian conservative leader suggests joint battalion for Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia

“Before our accession to NATO, we had stepped up regional cooperation and established battalions: Lithuanian-Polish, Lithuanian-Latvian-Estonian. I think Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia could follow the example of cooperation and demonstrate their ability to look beyond their national interests and their ability to agree among a few countries,” Landsbergis told the Žinių Radijas news radio on Friday.

He said he had discussed the idea with Ukraine’s foreign minister. Landsbergis said Lithuania could share its experience in this respect.
