Lithuanian expatriate community could play a significant role in Seimas elections

The announcement highlights that expatriate votes can impact the assignation of up to 70 seats in the 141 seat Seimas and while currently all those voting for abroad are registered in the Naujamiestis electoral district in Vilnius, if 35,000 voters registered from abroad, they could be granted an exclusive district from next year onward which could allow them to have a more significant impact on Lithuanian politics.

“We are all doing important work in distributing information, however the decision on who to trust with the governance of Lithuania for the next four years is in the hands of individual voters. Lithuanians of the world, unite – our time is now!,” the PLB Executive Council Chairwoman Dalia Henke urged.
