The LPK does its best to maintain close relationship with Ukrainian business organisations and is fostering companies, despite the great deal of destruction of businesses and industry in Ukraine, to maintain intense business relations.
Ukraine’s industry has great potential. But the problem is that geographically economic relations for a long time have been oriented to one direction. 24 percent of Ukraine’s export is consumed by Russia, while the EU accounts for only 26.5 percent of total Ukrainian export. The war and unfavourable geopolitical and macroeconomic environment in the CIS region creates a strong need to diversify Ukraine’s foreign trade, and increase the presence of Ukraine’s products in the EU market.
The Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) is a good basis for the development of the EU-Ukraine trade relations. But Ukrainian business needs support with a view to complying with the EU goods and services standards, in enhancing export competences, attracting investments, etc.
In order to help Ukrainian colleagues and develop common business projects in the framework of the Eastern Partnership and the EU support to Ukraine policy, the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists has taken an initiative to organise a high level Ukraine-Lithuania business mission to Brussels on 9-11 December. More than 20 businessmen and representatives of business organisations are taking part in the mission.
During the visit they will participate in the EU-Ukraine business round table discussion at BUSINESSEUROPE. The delegation will have a number of meetings in Brussels with top EU politicians and officials on the most important issues for the Ukrainian and EU businesses.
